SCREENINGS AND TICKETS

This is the story of an Egyptian woman, of Jewish origin who revolutionized fashion but whose name remains unknown: Gaby Aghion.

Ahead of her time, she became a communist and evolved in the 1950s Saint-Germain-des-Prés intellectual circles. An audacious, emancipated artist, she liberated women from their « Haute Couture » clothes by creating light and vaporous outfits. She invented a new idea of prêt-à-porter with Brigitte Bardot, Jackie Kennedy, and Maria Callas as clients. She was a pioneer, the world's first female artistic director, and the one who brought in designers, including Karl Lagerfeld.

With unpublished and glamorous archives, exclusive access to Chloé Fashion House, the participation of close friends, family, and former collaborators, and the recreation of an interview with Gaby Aghion herself, this film offers a captivating portrait of an example of women’s empowerment.

The Chloé fashion house designer Frida Jõe will introduce the film screening.

Every moviegoer will receive a Chloé fragrance sample as a gift.
